Deck Defense is the best semi-transparent penetrating stain for your wood deck, rails and fences. It has been engineered for better performance, longer life, and easier application. Although it is a totally waterborne product, Deck Defense has penetrating properties like oil finishes, but unlike oil-based products, it hardens into a lattice, supporting and strengthening the natural wood fibers from the inside out.

Customers can feel secure in the knowledge that their investment is protected from the natural damaging effects of sun, wind, and water. Deck Defense is easy to apply and maintain, and is ideal for sealing decks, fences, railings and other horizontal surfaces.

Deck Defense is available in seven colors to match our most popular colors, but we've now added the ability to order custom colors! If you have a particular color in mind for your deck, contact your local Perma-Chink Systems store to discuss our custom color option.

Deck Defense  can be applied over previously stained decks with the same product, provided proper application and surface preparation. Allow new pressure treated wood to “season” prior to application.

Application Methods
  • Airless sprayer, pump up sprayer
  • Brush, Roller, Application Pads
  • Back-brush into surface
  • Refer to product label for application instructions

Surface Preparation
  • Apply to clean, dry surface
  • Free of mold and mildew
  • Never use steel wool

Frequency
  • As needed, depending on exposure
Special Instructions
  • Back-brushing required
  • Stir container every 15 minutes/paint stick
  • Maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks
  • Avoid applying in direct sun
Drying Time
  • Wait 24 hours before returning heavy items
  • Dry to the Touch in 15 minutes Tack free in 30 minutes 
    • *Depending on temperature and humidity
Coverage
  • 175-250 square feet / gallon

Thanks Perma-chink!!!! As always, the delivery was faster than seemed possible, the product exceeds expectations, and I am incredibly happy I chose Perma-chink for all of my log / wood treatment. A few years ago I complete a log restoration. This year was a deck with enclosed lower with dry storage underneath. I could not be more impressed with the Perma-chink company and its products. Thank you! Todd

Perma-Chink has always made great products, but I had never tried the Deck product before so i figured i would give it a shot. My wife placed an order for a few samples and we decide on the Redwood color, it was easy to apply and looks really good, now to see how long it holds up!

Another GREAT product by Permachink! We so wish we had used this product initially when we stained our deck for the first time! When we restained it with Deck Defense, it looked much better than the original and weathered much better! Great protection for a deck!

Fantastic Product and easy to use! I applied Deck Defense to my pressure treated deck. After the wood was cleaned, I applied it and it looks great!
