The end-grain of wood is particularly vulnerable to sun, rain, snow and ice, which can lead to excessive cracks and checks. End grain can also act like tiny straws, drawing excessive moisture into the wood. Log End Seal provides a durable, water-repellent barrier against these problems before they begin.

Application Methods	Brush
Surface Preparation	Clean and dry Sand log ends Apply Lifeline stain before Log End Seal
Frequency	Use Log End Seal as needed depending on the climate and weather exposure.
Special Instructions	Apply Lifeline stain to the entire home, including the log ends. When the Lifeline has dried, apply Log End Seal with a brush, taking care to completely cover the exposed log end. Wipe off any extra that may have worked its way onto the sides of logs. Apply Log End Seal before applying Lifeline clear topcoat. Wash equipment and brushes with a soap and warm water.
Drying Time	Dry to the touch in 1-3 hours
Coverage	30-40 square feet / gallon. One gallon will coat approx. 180 six inch diameter log ends or 100 eight inch diameter log ends.

I didn't give my log ends the attention they deserved first time around. When restaining my cabin, I needed something to make up the difference between my order and the free shipping amount. I chose Log End Seal. Boy am I glad I did! After sanding and application, they are like glass! This is the best product I've bought from Perma Chink, by far! Don't skimp on your log ends!!

This product was used on my new log cabin on all of the log ends. It was easy to use, but before I applied it I found out you needed to sand the log ends fairly smooth. I applied my Lifeline stain after the cabin was sanded and cleaned. Then I applied Log End Seal and then the topcoat. Log End Seal had a whitish color before it fully dried, but after about a week or two it turned clear. Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good product for protecting log ends. So far, so good!
